Helping hearts heal, one page at a time.

We create comforting books with coloring pages and journaling prompts for kids and teens in pediatric psychiatric units. Each page is a space to breathe, reflect, and bloom in your own way.

Our
Mission

At the Room To Bloom nonprofit, we’re on a mission to create calming, creative books filled with coloring pages and journaling prompts for children and teens in pediatric psychiatric units.

We know that healing isn’t just about treatment plans or medication. It’s also about feeling safe, supported, and seen — especially during the quiet, in-between moments that often go unnoticed. Our goal is to offer those moments through art and reflection. Whether it’s adding color to a peaceful scene or writing down a feeling that’s hard to say out loud, every page in Room to Bloom is meant to bring a gentle breath of comfort and calm.

While the book is still in progress, every design is being created with intention — simple enough to feel welcoming, yet meaningful enough to give kids and teens space to express themselves in whatever way they need. There’s no pressure to be okay, no need to explain everything, and no expectations. Just open pages waiting to be filled with color, with thoughts, or with nothing at all.

Room to Bloom is about offering something small but powerful — a moment to pause, to feel, to create, and to remember that growth can still happen even in difficult times. We’re honored to build this project, and we’re working hard to one day place these books in the hands of the kids who need them most.

Why It Matters

Many children and teens in psychiatric units spend their days surrounded by unfamiliar routines, clinical settings, and emotional challenges. In those moments, something as simple as a book can offer a sense of calm, control, and comfort. Room to Bloom was created to provide that gentle space, a break from the noise, a quiet activity, and a reminder that they are cared for. These books are more than just pages to fill; they are a way to support healing, creativity, and emotional well-being for young people who often feel overlooked.

Raise Awareness

Share Your Creativity

Mental Health is one of the biggest issues in the modern day. According to the NIMH, nearly half of individuals aged 13-18 years experience mental health issues. However, regardless of society's advancements in accepting this reality, it is still viewed by many as abnormal, or they simply are unaware of the struggles millions of people face. If you want to become a part of the mission to improve awareness and normalization, go to our "Get Involved" page.

Although Room to Bloom is still in progress, the project relies entirely on donations. Printing and delivering these books to pediatric psychiatric units costs hundreds and eventually thousands of dollars as the project grows. Every contribution helps bring this vision to life by placing a book into the hands of a child who needs comfort, calm, and care. Your support makes it possible for us to provide these books at no cost to hospitals and care centers, creating gentle moments of peace for kids and teens during some of their hardest days.

Room to Bloom welcomes artists who want to make a difference through their creativity. If you love to draw and want to help bring calm and comfort to kids and teens in pediatric psychiatric units, we would be honored to include your work. Each coloring page in our book is designed to be gentle, peaceful, and easy to color, and we are always looking for new illustrations that fit that vision. Whether you are a student, professional, or hobbyist, your art can become part of something meaningful that helps young people feel seen, supported, and safe. Go to our "Get Involved" page to learn more.
